FYI,

For most cars with rear disk brakes, you will need a special tool for retracting the piston on the rear wheels. The special tool allows you to depress the piston while simultaneously rotating it. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize this until after I spent 30 minutes breaking my arms attempting to depress the piston with a regular C clamp, which is normal procedure with all front disk brake replacements. Having only ever changed rear drum brakes on my previous cars, I pain stakingly twisted the C clamp with all my strength to no avail. Twisting so hard in fact that the C clamp actually started to bend, something that is not supposed to happen.

If you find yourself in this situation, please do yourself the favor and visit your local auto parts store and request a caliper tool set for disk brakes. The are available for purchase, but most stores will offer a rental set for deposit only. Quite handy.
